Institute for Caregiver Education Offices to Move to Grounds of Eldercare Community in Chambersburg

Move Offers Classroom and Laboratory Space to Meet Increased Requests for Caregiver Instruction

On May 30th, The Institute for Caregiver Education moved across Chambersburg to 1995 Wayne Road. For the last four years, the Institute has retained office space in the Sentry Corporate Center on 5th Avenue. The move was prompted by the fact that the Institute has been offered office space adjacent to the Providence Place Retirement Community on Wayne Road.

“Our mission is to foster the highest quality of life for elders through professional development and continuing education for caregivers. That said, we have been isolated from the day-to-day challenges of living and working around elders in our old offices on 5th Avenue, “says IfCE President, Annette Sanders. “This move affords us the opportunity to surround ourselves with elders and caregivers in a way that has not been possible in the past.”

In addition to the office space, which is a stand alone building that sits on the Providence Place property, the Institute for Caregiver Education has also been offered the exclusive use of over 2,000 square feet of laboratory and classroom space located in the basement floor of the retirement community.

The Institute for Caregiver Education is a leader in caregiver Education in Western Pennsylvania and across the nation that offers ongoing classes in certified nursing assistant instruction, person-directed care education and a variety of in-service and CEU-based instruction offerings. In the past, Pennsylvania-based education offerings have taken place in rented conference sites across the sate. This new classroom and laboratory space will provide the Institute with additional flexibility in the student size of classroom instruction that it offers.

The doors opened at the new space on 1995 Wayne Road in Chambersburg on Wednesday, June 1st. The phone and fax numbers remain the same.

Over the last five years the IfCE team has educated hundreds of long-term care professionals on a myriad of Culture Change topics at such national conferences as ASA, NADONA, AAHSA, AHCA, ACHCA, The Pioneer Network, the VA Summit and numerous state associations. The Institute for Caregiver Education is currently a leading Culture Change educator for a number of state QIO organizations as they work with the 8th Scope of Work and CMS.

IfCE team members are eldercare industry professionals from a variety of disciplines including nursing home administration, nurse management, home care management, long term care education, leadership and organizational management, healthcare marketing and communications.
