Institute Recognized as Preferred Culture Change Education Provider
CMS Requests IfCE Presentation at QIO QualityNet 2005 Conference
HUNT VALLEY, MD - The Institute for Caregiver Education was
among five preferred best practices in Culture Change education providers
to present at the QualityNet 2005 Conference in September. QualityNet 2005
was hosted in partnership with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
(CMS) and included over 70 independent nursing home and home health organizations
and their government Quality Improvement Organizations (QIOs). The
theme for this year’s venue was the “Quest for Quality.”
“The organizers of QualityNet asked us to join four other Culture Change
education providers in a presentation of our services to a group of QIO representatives
from across the country,” said Jim Kinsey, IfCE’s Director of Corporate
Development and Product Services. “This was an important opportunity
for us as we continue our work assisting QIOs with their Culture Change training
and development.”
Currently, the Institute for Caregiver Education is the primary education
provider for the Pennsylvania Quality Improvement Organization, Health Insights.
To date the Institute has delivered three intensive education workshops for
Health Insights. Topics were designed to kick off CMS's Eighth Scope of Work,
and included Culture Change 101, regulatory enhancement, and transformational
leadership.
One of the unique aspects of the Institute is that the team currently provides
Culture Change training and consultation to over 100 long term care, short
term rehabilitation, assisted living and home care providers. The result is
a team experienced in meeting many of the real-world challenges entailed in
cultivating deep system change. CMS and the QualityNet 2005 conference organizers
recognized this fact and that is why the Institute was asked to present.
