IfCE's New England Advanced Culture Change Series a Success
More than 150 Eldercare Professionals Turn Out for Autumn Education Event
NEW ENGLAND - The Institute for Caregiver Education hosted two
Culture Change Intensive Series conferences on September 27th and 29th in
New England. The New England Culture Change Intensive Series was
focused on providing an advanced level of training for providers who already
have a basic understanding of Culture Change and the movement in the industry
to transition from a medical model of care to a social model of care. More
than 150 professionals representing 13 individual provider organizations
from four states attended the event.
The New England Culture Change Intensive Series took place on September 27th
in Peabody, MA at Renaissance Gardens/Brooksby Village and on September 29th
in East Hartford, CT at the Holiday Inn East Hartford.
Presentation topics offered represented an advanced group of Culture Change
areas, including:
- Neighborhood Team Implementation
- How Culture Change Supports the Survey Process
- Holistic Advances in Caregiving
- Organizational Leadership and Culture Change
This was the first time that the Institute for Caregiver Education had provided
a one-day conference offering in New England. Currently IfCE team members provide
onsite consultation to five homes in Western Massachusetts. New England providers
are well aware of IfCE, however, as many of the Institute’s caregiver
education resources have been purchased from that area. The seminars were offered
in response to requests for Culture Change education above and beyond basic
system change implementation.
The seminar offerings were reviewed and approved by the National Continuing
Education Review Service (NCERS) of the National Association of Boards of Examiners
for Nursing Home Professionals (NAB) for six participant hours. Additionally,
six hours were submitted for RNs, LPNs/LVNs, Social Workers, Activity Professionals,
and Dietary Managers.
For more information on seminars being planned for the New England area please email
Allison Lantieri or call her at 702-567-2769.
