The Institute for Caregiver Education is proud to have been serving the needs of caregivers since 1993.  Initially established to provide educational resources for front-line caregivers, the Institute has grown to include serving the needs of professionals, family members and organizations.

Professional Caregivers

Over the last fifteen years, the Institute for Caregivereducation has been developing educational resources for professionals serving the needs of elders. These include:

  • nursing assistants
  • practical nurses
  • registered nurses
  • nursing home administrators
  • directors of nursing
  • social workers
  • community life professionals (activities & therapeutic recreation)
  • dietary managers
  • rehabilitation professionals
  • laundry and housekeeping professionals
  • home health aides
  • adult day care professionals

Providers

We work with provider organizations including non-profit, faith-based eldercare providers; for-profit multi-home companies; Veteran’s Administration homes; and privately-owned nursing homes, personal care homes, assisted livings, adult day centers and home care companies.

Organizations / Associations

The Institute team is proud to be a nationally-recognized leader of professional caregiver education. We speak throughout the country at national industry conferences and many state association events. We are able to customize multi-day conferences for organizations to meet the needs of their membership, and can also provide CEU management.Recent clients have included:

Wisconsin Veteran's Administration VISN 12
Masonic Homes of Kentucky
Oklahoma Association of Homes & Services for the Aging
The Pioneer Network
Tennessee Health Care Association

Family Caregivers

We have found that a substantial amount of our resources may also be applied to the care being given to a family member in their home, or for individuals who have brought a loved one home to care for them. Some of these resources include education on:

Supporting a loved one with dementia-related illness
 Hospice/Palliative Care/Comfort Care
 Managing Depression
 Safety/Accidents & Fall Prevention
 Maintaining Nutrition
