Customized Design & Delivery of Educational Services
For many organizations, customized day-long and multi-day events can be the
best approach to delivering important and cutting-edge information to your
staff. Many organizations invite the Institute back for subsequent consultation
and educational services.
Some recent examples of customized educational design and delivery include
the following:
- For Illinois Department of Aging (Summer 2005) — Culture
Change advanced training was delivered over two 2-day intensive workshops.
Topics included neighborhood team implementation, value-based careplanning,
celebrating the end of life, and connecting with families.
- For Messiah Village (Spring 2005) — Designed
and delivered a two-day leadership retreat for this faith-based organization.
Topics were based on intense consultation with the Village's building community
task force and from the results of the Village's employee satisfaction surveys.
Topics included relationship development, transformational leadership, servant
leadership, team development, team formation, and specific team building
exercises to enhance relationships within the leadership council.
- For Senior Life Alliance (Spring 2005) — Created
a day-long event for the nursing leadership of four continuing care communities.
Education goals of the event were met by delivery of "Nursing's Role
in Transformation and Person-Centered Care for All."
- For Anabaptist Provider Group Leadership Retreat
(Spring 2005) — Designed and delivered specific education
for this provider group of 17 continuing care communities. Topics and educational
design were driven by the Anabaptist Customer and Employee survey results
and were infused with the Institute's Principles of Culture Change. This
two-day event empowered leaders of their organizations with tools to enhance
relationship development, improve communication and listening, and provide
a foundation to begin the process of creating neighborhood teams.
- For Quality Insights of Pennsylvania (Winter 2004) — Delivered
three intensive education workshops for the Quality Improvement Organization
of Pennsylvania. Topics were designed to kick off CMS's Eighth Scope of Work,
and included Culture Change 101, regulatory enhancement, and transformational
leadership.
- For Pennsylvania Recreation and Park Society (Fall
2004) — Designed specific Culture Change education for a day-long
seminar for long term care recreation and therapeutic recreation coordinators.
Topics included Culture Change: Why do we need change, communication and
conflict resolution, and developing a vital community life program.
- For Montgomery County Aging and Adult Services
(Fall 2004) — Designed and implemented a five-week education
series for the community caregiver, volunteer ombudsmen, and regional ombudsmen.
The series focused on introductory Culture Change education, regulatory
compliance enhanced by Culture Change, communication, conflict resolution,
caring for difficult clients, and empowering teams in the community.
For educational offerings planned far enough in advance, organizations may
wish to engage the Institute to obtain CEUs for their professional licensed
staff (e.g. administrators, nurses, social workers, etc.).
